It's true, it shines every day is Southern California. Today you had to be inside the LA Auto Show to see the shine. The crowds were good and the displays were superb. Some manufacturers seemed a little more conservative than last year. GM had some beautiful auto's this year. The Cadillac Ciel was gorgeous and vaguely reminiscent of the 70's El Dorado. Over at Chevrolet the luminescent green Hot Wheels Camaro drew a big group of guys. I picked up the occasional, "I had one of those. Cool." Buick had their latest on display. My opinion, Buick has made the biggest advancements in design of all GM's. Kia and Scion were after the younger crowd with thumping beats and BIG video displays. They both had good gatherings around the leggy models and flashing lights. Got my attention. Toyota, Honda and Nissan were there in full regalia and the electrics were getting a lot of attention. … [Read more...]

The opportunity to intern at Porsche has been very rewarding and exciting. And the thought of my design appearing on a Porsche race car in front of thousands of people – and 100 other Porsche race cars – is quite amazing!” Frey, a recent graduate of Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, GA, majored in industrial design. Her paint scheme was selected from four final contenders by PCNA employees and won out over several designs drafted by professionals. American Le … [Read more...]

ATLANTA – June 22, 2011 – A nice round number to celebrate the birthday: Almost 15 years to the month after production began, the Porsche Boxster, together with its sister model, the Cayman, exceeded the 300,000 mark for the number of vehicles built. With its timeless attractiveness, this two-seat, mid-engine Porsche design has what it takes to make yet another sports car icon. To mark the anniversary, a Boxster Spyder with Platinum Silver metallic finish and Carrera red natural leather interior trim will roll off the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen production line in June, destined for a customer in Germany. There are solid reasons for this long-standing success: The Boxster and Cayman are continuously developed based on a meticulous mid-engine concept and are therefore deemed to set the standard for sports cars of their class. In the important export market of the United States, this is … [Read more...]
Any project worth doing is at least 10 times the work and 10 times the cost you planned on. You would think after 45 years of business building, it would be like stacking LEGOs. Never is, that’s why we do what we do. The ability to build something where there was nothing always gets my blood flowing and my mind racing.
